She starred in two seasons of the cult CBS comedy B Positive. Also, she was a part of the hit series created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, which featured the legendary actresses Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. A veteran of Broadway Ashford has won both the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her role as Essie. Additional Broadway performances for Ashford includes Sunday in the Park, with George Wicked legally Blonde, and her role as Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots. For this performance she received a Tony Award nomination. Ashford lives in Los Angeles & New York. Her birthplace was in Denver and grew up there.
