As a woman born with no left hand, the woman is an important part of her. It's however not her entire story. So, Lockhart's Instagram account does not shy away from her disability, but the focus isn't on her disability either. What message is it trying to convey? It is important to remember that we all have many faces, our identities vary and we're much beyond our body. Lockhart states in the video Lockhart via video "I do not believe that disability will define my character. I don't intend to be an influencer on disability, because I've so much more to offer." The issue doesn't affect my everyday routine. I carry on my business as usual and have found different ways of adapting. But it's also a part of me, so I believe it's important to talk about. Lockhart is a great example of how to stay going with self-acceptance. She still admits having gone through a series of phases with her physique, feeling uncomfortable in certain situations wearing clothing that displayed the arms of her. She wears what she likes and proudly posts pictures of herself wearing the clothes she chooses on social platforms. What makes self-love so appealing to her is that it's not a place to go. The same is true for everybody, no matter what their degree of self-confidence. It's essential to surround yourself with people who can see and know your true heart.
