Nadia Comaneci, (born November 12 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej [now Onesti] Romania) Romanian gymnast who was the first gymnast in history to be awarded a perfect score of 10 during the Olympic competition. Bela Karrolyi was a Romanian gymnastics instructor, who later became Comaneci's coach, first discovered Comaneci at the age of six. She took part in the Romanian Junior Championships and placed 13th. She won in 1970. At her first international meet, which was an Olympic-style junior preolympic competition that was open to countries of the communist bloc, she won 3 gold medals. And in 1973 and 1975, she was crowned all-around Junior Champion. In 1975, she won 4 gold and 1 silver in her first senior international competition. Lyudmila Torishcheva was a five-time European champion. The first female ever to successfully perform a backwards double salto while dismounting from an uneven parallel bar. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her career in the world of entertainment began in her teens, when she began doing figure skating with her younger sister Nina Wayne as part of the touring entertainment show that were known as Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne, born in Chicago Illinois US on 6 September 1942. Carol began her journey into the entertainment business as a teenager. Early on, Carol began as a figure skater for traveling shows Ice Capades with her sister Nina Wayne. Ice Capades featured performances of skating on ice performed by actors.
